Movie request guide

Pick your picture.
Choose your language.

Request a movie in 4K or with German audio. German subtitles are searched for automatically, so you can turn them on when you watch.

Which profile should I choose?

Everyday choice · Default

1080p Balanced

Good picture quality for most screens and connections. Leave this selected for a normal movie request.

Sharper picture

4K Balanced

Choose this for a 4K TV and a strong connection. The movie needs a suitable 4K release to become available.

German audio / Deutsche Tonspur

1080p German Audio

Request a movie with a German spoken-audio track, including a German dub where available. Other languages may be included too.

4K + German audio

4K German Audio

Request both a 4K picture and German spoken audio. This can take longer because the release must meet both choices.

Want German subtitles with English audio? Use 1080p Balanced or 4K Balanced. A German-audio profile is only needed when you want German speech.

Choose a profile when you request

  1. Open the Request SiteGo to request.meeftube.com. Choose Sign in with Jellyfin and use your usual Meeftube account.
  2. Find the movie and select RequestSearch for its title, open the movie page, and select Request to open the request dialog.
  3. Expand AdvancedInside the request dialog, open Advanced, then use the Quality Profile dropdown. Select one of the four profiles above. Keep the other options at their defaults.
  4. Confirm your requestCheck the selected profile and submit. Your account’s usual request limits and approval rules still apply. A request can wait until a matching release is available.

Choose 4K Balanced for a normal 4K request. The separate 4K Remux option uses much larger files. Check with the server owner before choosing it.

Pick audio and subtitles when watching

  1. Open the movie in Meeftube or MoonfinThe movie keeps its normal title. Available languages are listed in its audio and subtitle controls.
  2. For German speech, choose German audioOpen the Audio track selector and choose German or Deutsch. Requesting a German-audio profile does not change your player’s language preference.
  3. For German text, choose German subtitlesOpen Subtitles or the CC control and choose German. Controls vary by device. “External” means a separate subtitle file; “Hearing Impaired” adds cues such as music and sound effects.

No German subtitle option yet? Subtitles can arrive after the movie. Reopen the movie later. If German is still missing, or the text is incomplete or out of sync, report an issue on the Request Site or contact the server owner.

Quick help

The movie is already available. How do I change it?

You may not see a new Request button for an existing movie. Report an issue on its Request Site page or contact the owner and say which profile you want. The library shares one movie version, so a version change affects everyone who watches that title. Adding subtitles can be done separately.

I don’t see Advanced or the profile dropdown

Use the Request Site in a web browser; some app integrations show fewer options. Sign out and back in if your access changed recently. If the option is still missing, ask the server owner to check your request permissions.

Why is my German-audio request taking longer?

It needs a release that contains German speech. A German-subtitle track alone does not qualify. If no matching release is available, the request waits rather than switching to English-only audio.

Does a 4K request change my playback settings?

The profile chooses the movie version requested. Your device and connection determine how it plays. If playback buffers, try a lower playback quality or use 1080p Balanced for future requests.

Are German subtitles guaranteed for every movie?

They are searched for automatically, but availability and timing vary. “Forced” subtitles cover only selected scenes and may not provide the whole film’s dialogue. Report partial, incorrect, or out-of-sync tracks so the owner can fix them.

Do these profiles apply to TV shows?

This guide covers movie profiles. TV shows currently use their existing request settings. Ask the owner if a show needs a specific language or resolution.
